Astorville Hotel - 1409 Village Road

 

Built in 1895 by Damien Rochefort, the Rochefort Hotel was operated by family, including well-liked Herménégilde (Tizine ) and Mary Rochefort until 1950 when it was sold to Fred Bratt and his wife Lucienne Gauthier and renamed the Astorville Hotel. It was sold in the 1960s to Jos Brisson who later sold it to Sandy Murdoch who sold it to George Ellas and renamed it Astorville Tavern. Tony and Yvette Loeffen purchased the hotel in the 1980s.The building was destroyed by fire June 30, 1994.
