First Chapel and Cemetery - 1417 Village Road
In 1886, Reverend Moïse Legault, a French missionary, celebrated the first religious service in Astorville. In 1887, by the water at 1417 Village Road, the first chapel and cemetery were built. The cemetery was relocated in 1907 when Father Astor purchased land from Cléophas Robert; all the bodies were relocated to the new cemetery.
