Côte Croche

This hill, which was part of the original main road, is known to locals as la côte croche, or “crooked hill,” because of its sharp bend. Before cars became the norm and roads were too busy, children would slide down these hills. The hill also carries the name “Signal Hill” as it is believed to have been a place from which Aboriginal people sent signals.
